Welcome to "Hessen tanzt 2013" |
The Dancing Association of Hesse (HTV) invites dancers from all countries!
For over 30 years the HTV and its associated dance sport clubs and groups have organised "Hessen Tanzt" - the biggest dance sport event of its kind in the world which takes place from the 11th till 12th of may in the Ice Sport Hall (Ratsweg) and the Factory Sport Hall (Wächtersbacher Straße 80 ( only a few minutes away by car). On this weekend the HTV offers spectators free entry to "Total Dance Sport".
The Biggest Amateur Dancing Competition in the World
Over 7,000 dancers from every corner of Germany together with an ever increasing number of competitors from other countries take part. Around 180 Judges and 200 competition chairmen and assistants help to ensure the smooth running of "Hessen Tanzt".
8 Competitions Simultaneously
The spectator can experience live dancing from all age groups and ability levels in both the standard and latin american dances on up to 8 floors in the Ice Sport Hall and up to 4 floors in the Factory Sport Hall - all at the same time!
Trouble Free Organisation Ensured by Highly Trained Volunteers
The smooth running on each individual floor is assigned to a competition management group. Each group consists of a Chairman, an Assistant and further helpers who sit together along one short side of the dance floor. The judges also contribute to the running of the competitions - they have the job of comparing the performances of the dancers - not always an easy task. There are either five or seven judges to each floor - they rank the performances of the dancers according to the following criteria: Music - Balance - Characteristic Everything of Interest for the Dancer!
Shows from all the various branches of Dancing are presented during the short periods between the competition rounds. Visitors can explore the latest fashions from the world of dance in the many shops around the balcony level in the Ice Sport Hall where they will find stands for dresses, music, cosmetics and all other dance sport requisites alongside outlets for coffee and cakes, drinks and light meals.
There are more than enough seats around both the 1,800 m2 floor in the Ice Sport Hall and in the Factory Sport Hall for all of our visitors. Dogs are not allowed inside the Factory Sport Hall.
